This is the felt channel that fits in the door jamb to help guid your window up and keep it from rattling while driving.  It starts at the top of the window opening by the wind wing pillar, and follows that opening around toward the rear, and then drops down into the door itself in the metal rail  under the window sill.  The door glass is sandwiched into it.
