Change your brake fluid on a regulator basis to prevent premature brake failure. ALWAYS use DOT 3 brake fluid in your air-cooled VW.  Using more modern fluids such as DOT 4 or DOT 5 can cause brake system failures in some systems, as the seals were not designed for use with other fluids.  Lucas synthetic fluid is of excellent quality, and our personal choice.
