Fuel Pump, Type 1 '61 & Later, Clears Alternator, Late Style, Economy

Fuel pump replacement is really easy.  There are two "stock" models.  These are the "later" style, which were originally installed on '74 and later bugs.  They will clear an alternator, if your engine is equipped with one.  They require a 100mm pump drive rod.  If a later pump is installed with the wrong "early" 108mm drive rod, it will break immediately, so be sure to check yours or replace with a new one to be safe. Also make sure to pack the inside of the pump (where the lever is) with grease before installing.
