This is the rubber boot that connects the stock carburetor to the air cleaner on '68 to '71 Buses, '68 to 74 Ghias, and '73 & '74 VW Thing. If it is cracked and leaking, it will allow dust, dirt, and debris into your engine through your carburetor, which can lead to catastrophic failure.
